Story
Need a lawyer? He runs his law firm out of his Lincoln and is ready to step on the gas. Moving to Los Angeles, he takes on cases while balancing his personal life that includes being a father and having two ex-wives.

Originally set up with CBS for a series commitment in 2020, it was canceled shortly before the first episode was set to film due to COVID. Now, Netflix has picked up the series for a 10-episode first season based on Mickey Haller’s second book, “The Brass Verdict.” Mickey Haller owns several cars, all with personalized California license plates that have legal notices on them. Personalized California license plates allow a maximum of seven letters/numbers, but all Mickey license plates have at least eight.
The viewer identifies with the ups and downs of Haller’s legal career
This is an enjoyable first season of the series based on the novels by Michael Connelly. The duo of David Kelley and Ted Humphrey manage to bring to the screen the raw story of intelligent defense attorney Mickey Haller, his associates and his family. But one is struck by his passion for the law and his genuine concern for his clients.
The plots are well thought out and quite entertaining
The film manages to capture his deep humanity amidst his flaws. Apart from Haller, all the other main characters are recognizable: Cisco, Lorna, Maggie, Trevor Elliott, Hayley and even Detective Griggs. The twists and turns capture the viewer’s attention while the drama resonates.
Let’s move on to the second season
In particular, the way Haller manages to reveal the magic wand, linking one crime to another and use it at trial, is ingenious. Serious students of criminal law and criminal procedure will surely appreciate the law and the free tutorial it offers them. We can’t wait to learn more about the lives of Haller and co.
